Konrad Lehmann was born on May 13, 1912. Konrad lost his mother at the age of seven. As a teenager, he joined the Hitler Youth, rising to the role of group leader by the time he was 17. During these years, he engaged in relationships with other young men in the group.
At some point, rumors about his relationships began to spread, and he was denounced to the Nazis. During interrogation, Nazi officials displayed their ignorance and deep-seated prejudice, attributing his sexuality to his motherless upbringing, a reflection of their warped and pseudoscientific views on queerness. His files also note that authorities ordered continued secret surveillance on the other teens who had been named in their investigation.
Konrad was sentenced to two years in prison. After that, his fate remains unknown.
